3. Do not Drag Heavy Objects Over Wooden Floor

Heavy objects can damage wooden flooring very badly. Use a thick carpet to drag heavy objects or carry them on shoulders. Heavy objects can create scratches on the wooden floor. Also avoid dragging heavy trolley bags, using a wheeled mechanism to drag heavy objects like cylinders.

4. Avoid High Acidic Product to Clean the Floor

Do not use the product to clean the floor which contains a higher amount of acetic acid like Vinegar, Ammonia solution, and Abrasive cleaners. These liquids can create scratches on the wooden flooring. However, a small quantity of these liquids can be utilized to clean the floor.

5. Wipe Out Water Immediately

The collection of water on the wooden floor for a long period of time can cause serious problems such as Cupped, split, gapped, swollen, or shrunk wooden floors. Wipe off the water as soon as possible to avoid any absorption of water by the wooden floor. Do not use soaked wipers. Try to use a semi-damp or dry cloth to wipe the wooden floor.

6. Avoid Dirt or Wet Footwears

Do not use dirt or wet footwear to walk on the floor. The top layer of the wooden flooring is normally damaged due to spiked, wedged, or stiletto heels. Remove your shoes while entering the room and wear socks or indoor slippers. This will help to reduce the risk of dirt, grit, or gravel coming in contact with the wooden floor.

7. Use Rugs and Doormats

To avoid the dirt or grime from outside being amassed on the wooden floor, you should put doormats inside and outside the entryways so that most of the impurities are cleared off prior to going into the room. Mats can help in drying and cleaning your shoes before you enter. Keep floor rugs inside the room in moderately high-traffic areas to shield a critical surface area from dirt.
