Second Class Brick is the same 19 x 9 x 9 cm in size as a first-class brick. These types of brick are uniform in texture and can be slightly irregular in shape. It doesn’t show any efflorescence. Generally, the color of these bricks is red sometimes yellow. Second Class Brick are well burnt. The second class brick minimum compressive strength is 7 Mega Pascal. And they shall not absorb more than 22% of water when immersed in water for 24 hours. It emits a metallic sound when struck by brick or hammer. Second Class Brick is hard enough to resist any fingernail expression on its surface.
Third Class Clay Brick:
The shape and size of Third Class Brick are not regular. Third Class Brick is not uniform in texture and they are irregular in shape. It shows efflorescence. Third Class Brick is not well burnt. Third-class bricks Minimum compressive strength is 3.5 Mega Pascal. The color is soft and light red-colored. Third Class Brick are normally under burnt, slightly over burnt is acceptable. And they shall not absorb more than 25% of water when immersed in water for 24 hours. It emits a dull or blunt sound. It leaves a fingernail expression if anyone tries to do with the thumbnail.
