1. Battened, Ledged, and Braced Doors
This type of door consists of batten, ledge, and braces. Battens and ledges are the vertical and horizontal members respectively. Braces are the inclined support that supports the ledge. These types of doors are normally made of wood.
2. Battened, Ledged, and Framed Doors
For the typical battened and ledged door, the frame is constructed given in the form of two verticals, called stiles. Stiles are normally 100 millimeters wide and as far as thickness is concerned, the thickness of stile should be equal to the combined thickness of ledge and batten.
3. Battened, Ledged, Braced, and Framed Doors
This type of door consists of batten, ledge, bracing member,s, and stiles. It is very strong and can bear a moderate load. The inclined supports are connected between the ledges, at about 40 millimeters from the stiles.
4. Battened and Ledged Doors
This type of door consists of only battens and ledges. Battens are vertical members and ledges provided horizontally. Normal dimensions of batten are 100-150 millimeters in width and 20-30 millimeters thick.
The normal dimension of ledges is 100-200 millimeters in width and 25-30 millimeters thick. These kinds of battened and ledged doors are appropriate for small openings.
5. Framed and Paneled Doors
Framed and paneled doors are very strong and provide a charming look. They are better looking compared to battened doors. These types of doors are very popular in the field of modern construction.
Vertical members horizontal members are grooved along the inner edges of the frame to connect the panels. Generally, panels are made up of timber or plywood, or glasses. These doors may be single leaf for narrow openings and double leaf for wider openings. The minimum width of the stile should be 100 millimeters and the minimum width of the bottom and locked rail should be 150 millimeters.
6. Flush Doors
In this type of door, a solid or semi-solid or core portion is covered on both sides with plywood or face veneer. Flush doors look very beautiful and enhance the esthetics appearance of the building. They are economical and more durable.
7. Glazed Doors
These types of doors are provided in interior wall openings. Glazed doors are suitable for colleges, hospitals, etc. You can see the interior part of the room via glazed doors. Normally glass sheets are fit into the glazed frame. Panels can be fully glazed or partially glazed.
8. Louvered Doors
Louvered doors allow natural ventilation and privacy in the room. Louvers are installed in a way that an outside person can not see the interior of the room. Louvers are installed inclined downward to prevent rainwaters. Different materials are used to construct louvers doors such as steel, glass, aluminum, etc.
9. Revolving Doors
Revolving doors are constructed only for some specific buildings such as exhibition centers, banks, museums, etc. If visitors are coming at a constant rate then it is the best suitable type of door. It consists of a vertical steel bar at its center to which four radiating shutters are attached.
10. Wire Gauged Doors
Wire gauged doors allow natural ventilation and limit the entry of flies, mosquitoes, insects, etc. These doors are commonly utilized in hotels, restaurants, and cupboards containing eatables things.
11. Sliding Doors
Sliding doors slide with the help of guide rails. Guided rails were installed on the runners. Sliding doors have one, two, or multiple leaves depending on the space. It slides in the horizontal direction.
The sliding door is fixed the track to the wall and a bottom guide to the floor, so it is easy for anyone to install and it is also very simple to install afterward during renovation work.
12. Swing Doors
Most doors are swing doors– simply think about your home, the ways to your room, washroom, and kitchen are all, most presumably, swing doors. Any passageway with two pivots that opens either inwards or outwards is a swing door.
13. Collapsible Steel Doors
Collapsible steel doors are normally used for industrial buildings such as warehouses, workshops, etc. It works like a steel curtain that will be opened or closed by horizontal pull or push. Vertical double-channel units of (20x10x2 millimeters) are spaced at 100 to 120 millimeters thick and are braced flat iron diagonals 10 to 20 millimeters wide and 5 millimeters thick.
14. Mild Steel Sheet Doors
The door frame is consists of angles or T-sections. The shutter consists of a frame of the angle of iron, having 2 verticals at least 3 horizontal. Mild steel plates are welded to the shutter frame.
15. Rolling Steel Shutter Doors
When you go to markets you generally see this type of door installed in the shops. This type of door is very strong and provides great safety. It is comprised of a frame, drum, and a shutter of thin steel plates interlocked together. A horizontal shaft is given in the drum which helps to open or close the shutter.
16. Corrugated Steel Sheet Doors
Corrugated Steel Sheet Doors are similar to mild steel sheet doors, but instead of mild steel sheet corrugated steel sheet is welded.
17. Hollow Metal Doors
Hollow steel sections are utilized to make these doors. The rails and stiles etc., are strengthened by welding little T or I sections inside. These are very strong doors due to metal.
18. Metal Covered Plywood Doors
Metal Covered Plywood Doors is a combined construction of hollow metal doors and wood doors. The door is encased in tight-fitting sheet metal, having tightly folded joints to exclude air so that the core of the door does not ignite. So, it works as fireproof.
