Job Title: MEP Draftsman
About the Role:
As an MEP Draftsman, you will play a vital role in supporting the Facilities Management Team by creating, revising, and maintaining engineering drawings for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in buildings and office spaces. Your expertise in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software such as AutoCAD and Revit will be essential for this role.
Accountabilities:
- Design and develop coordinated MEP layouts, elevations, sections, renders, reflected ceiling plans, and drawings for both new office setups and changes to existing office spaces.
- Prepare and update layouts approved by local authorities for Architectural and MEP systems, coordinating with stakeholders to obtain revisions or approvals for changes.
- Maintain accurate records of drawings and information related to office space interior layouts and furniture arrangements.
- Provide technical blueprints and drawings using licensed software (e.g., ACAD, Revit), ensuring they include essential information like formats, title blocks, notes, sketches, calculations, and dimensions.
- Collaborate with Service Providers and Contractors by providing detailed technical drawings for quantity take-off and outsourcing of work items.
- Offer CAD Support services to the Corporate Services Department for various building services as needed.
- Obtain feedback from line managers and facilities management teams in commercial and residential buildings.
- Work within a team of in-house Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Interior Design professionals, and CAD engineers for project execution and documentation within Qatar Airways’ properties.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues, trade specialists, contractors, and third parties to update MEP drawings and assist Design Engineers with updating as-built Architectural drawings.
- Participate in meetings with both internal and external stakeholders as requested.
- Inspect sites to update as-built MEP drawings and maintain records of incoming as-built and Authority-approved drawings.
- Adhere to local authority regulations, standards, and specifications for preparing MEP drawings and office space layouts.
- Review and ensure that final layouts comply with local regulations, codes, and standards, such as NFPA.

Without a Degree:
- High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
OR
With a Degree:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of job-related experience.
- Knowledge of international and local regulations and standards for MEP systems.
- Proficiency in BIM 360 and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) for MEP drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction drawing, detailing, materials, and technical requirements.
- Excellent time management and coordination skills to manage competing deadlines.
- Well-organized with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Willingness to learn and continuously develop skills and knowledge.
- Intermediate command of the English language and general computer programs such as MS Office and Outlook.
