Your New Role – What’s Involved?
- Implement and enforce excavation safety protocols and guidelines, aligning with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of excavation sites, identifying potential hazards and ensuring swift corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to formulate excavation safety plans for each project phase.
- Provide guidance and supervision to contractors and workers engaged in excavation, ensuring adherence to safety measures.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments for excavation projects, devising strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
- Analyze soil conditions, equipment needs, and site layouts, ensuring safe excavation practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs on excavation safety for workers, supervisors, and contractors.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in excavation safety, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Maintain precise records of excavation safety inspections, incidents, and corrective measures.
- Generate regular reports highlighting excavation safety performance, concerns, and suggestions for enhancement.
- Formulate emergency response plans tailored to excavation incidents, educating team members about their roles.
- Coordinate with emergency services and internal response teams to effectively manage excavation-related emergencies.
- Stay informed about local, state, and federal excavation safety regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Assist in preparing necessary permits and documentation required for excavation activities.
We’re Interested in Hearing from You If You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Excavation Safety Professional (CESP) or equivalent are highly valued.
- Proven experience in construction site supervision, specifically focusing on excavation safety.
- Solid understanding of excavation techniques, soil types, shoring systems, and trenching procedures.
- Profound knowledge of pertinent safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, etc.).
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for documentation and reporting.
