Job Title: Safety Officer

Job Summary: The Safety Officer’s primary focus is to execute all health and safety programs within the company. They are responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, such as NEBOSH/OSHA/IOSH.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in compliance reviews, risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety, and Environmental management.
- Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare necessary EHS reports as required.
- Provide assistance and advice on EHS issues, making recommendations to management.
- Oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance, including labelling, containment, proper disposal, and documentation.
- Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
- Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
- Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training.
- Observe EHS regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, and correct hazards immediately or report them.
- Ability to work with employees and drive cultural change in the face of potential resistance.
- Perform facility EHS inspections.
- Conduct daily and monthly EHS meetings/trainings and schedule as needed.
- Comply with all Company’s EHS procedures and policies.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Work together as a team member across the organization.
- Responsible for compliance with the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality System and strict adherence to EHS policies and procedures.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
- Familiarity with various emission control devices to ensure compliance.
- Superior analytical/problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, ERP, and Outlook.
- Ability to foster an open culture where all are valued and treated fairly.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school; a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Must have OSHA/IOSH/NEBOSH Certification from a recognized institute.
- Two years plus experience as an EHS officer in a manufacturing company (steel fabrication is an added advantage).
- Requires the use of a vehicle; must possess a valid homeland/Saudi driver’s license and demonstrate a satisfactory driving record.
Communications:
- Listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions and requests, effectively communicates problems and solutions to team members and internal customers.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Arabic and knowledge of any other country’s language will be an added advantage.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: 30 SAR/Hour
- Transportation, food, and accommodation will be as per the company’s grading procedure.
