A sloping roof is provided to avoid heavy rains and snow. A sloping roof is also called a pitched roof.
In this type of roof, the rainwater or snow is drained fast to save the house from its adverse effects. Generally, the Sloping roof is divided into two parts. Slopes are provided in a downwards direction, typically in two parts at an angle from a central ridge, but sometimes in one part, from one edge to another.

1. Mono pitch roof
This is the simplest form of a sloping roof with a number of slopes of 1. This is often a single sloping roof surface that is not connected to any other roof surface.
This type of roof is usually in the shape of an equilateral triangle, one of which is connected to a central ridge, and the other end is stretched. It can be called by various names such as shed roof, single pitched roof, pent roof, and skillion roof.
2. Couple roof
It is said to be the simplest type of roofing system and is similar to a gable or gable roof, except that a pair of roofs can be built at a minimum cost and can be built very quickly.
3. Closed couple roof
This type of roof is very similar to a twin roof, except in this type of roof, the legs of the common rafters are connected by horizontal fasteners. Anchors provided on the roof extend from a wall slab on one stud to another. That is, it covers the entire horizontal extent of the top.
4. Collar roof
This type of room is very similar to the Closed couple roof. The main difference is that in a collar beam roof, a collar tie is provided, instead of a horizontal tie, which runs from one wall plate to the other.
A collar tie is a horizontal structural element between the rafters that rise almost to the center from the rafter legs.
5. Purlin roof
The purlins are the vertical and horizontal structural elements of the roof. There are three main types of purlins in traditional timber framing: purlin plate, principal purlin, and common purlin.
Purlins also appear in steel structures. Steel purlin can be painted or oiled for environmental protection.
Advantages of Sloping Roof
- Rainwater can not collect on the roof.
