Grades of cement mortar are classified by the mixing ratio of cement and sand. Cement and sand are the two main components of mortar.
Cement mortar is consist of cement, sand and water.
Main grades of cement mortar are MM 0.7 , MM 1.5, MM 3, MM 5, And MM 7.5.
Masonry mortars are classified into various grades based on their minimum compressive strength, assessed after 28 days of testing.
The mix proportions and respective grades of cement mortar are shown as follows:
Remember: MM 0.7 means – MM refers to Mortar Mix and 0.7 refers to compressive strength of mortar at 28 days.
Here, compressive strength is measured in N/mm2.
