Symptoms Of A Bad Radiator Fan

It is very important know the symptoms of a bad radiator fan. Sometimes we even don’t know the reason of car overheating. It is easy to repair the car once issue is identified.

Here are the major symptoms of a bad radiator fan.

1. Engine Overheating

Overheating is the most obvious sign of a failing cooling fan. A malfunctioning radiator fan can cause the engine coolant temperature to rise rapidly, as shown by the thermometer in the car. This symptom often becomes more apparent when car is running at low speed.

2. AC Doesn’t Work Properly

Sometimes our car Ac does not work properly. We thought that, there is some problem with AC. Actually, that’s not the case. Because the car’s radiator fan also circulates air into the air conditioner, when it malfunctions, the cabin frequently receives inadequate cooling.

3. Temperature Light Is ON

If temperature light of the vehicle suddenly turned ON, it means cooling fan may not be working. This problem occur when there is insufficient airflow in the radiator. The automation system of the vehicle warn the driver by turning ON the temperature light.

4. Observation

You can identify by observing the sound. When you turned on the engine of the vehicle, there is a sound of radiator fan. If you don’t hear the sound, most probably radiator fan is not working.

5. Engine Performance Issues

Poor performance, such as lack of power or reluctance to accelerate, can be the result of an overheated engine.

6. Noise

When running, a radiator fan that is broken or not working properly can cause a rattling noise.
