A Brief Overview of Shoring
Shoring is the construction of temporary structures to temporarily support unstable structures. These support walls on the sides. Shoring is required to dismantle adjacent structures when walls are buckling, when walls are cracked due to uneven subsidence of foundations, and when cracked walls need to be repaired. If there is a wall opening that needs to be reworked or enlarged.
Diffrent Types of Shoring
Normally three types of shoring are used in the construction. These three types of shoring are given below.
- Raking shoring
- Flying shoring
- Dead shoring
Let’s know about above mentioned types of shoring.
1. Raking Shoring
This method uses a slanted element called a rake to support the wall from the sides.
2. Flying Shoring
Flying Shores is a system that provides temporary support for partition walls between two buildings that are to be dismantled and reconstructed in an intermediate building.
3. Dead Shoring
Dead shore is used to support walls, roofs, floors, etc. vertically when the bottom of a wall has been removed to provide an opening in the wall, or to reconstruct the load-bearing walls of a structure. It is a shoring system.
