Civil Structural Engineer (WSP)

Responsibilities:

○ Collaborate with the project team, architects, and other stakeholders to develop design concepts for civil structures.

○ Perform structural analyses, including load calculations, to determine the integrity and stability of the proposed structures.

○ Prepare and review detailed structural design drawings, specifications, and calculations.

○ Ensure compliance with relevant codes,
regulations, and industry standards in the design and construction of civil structures.

○ Review and evaluate contractor submissions, including shop drawings, method statements, and material selections.

○ Provide technical support and guidance to contractors during the construction phase, addressing structural issues and coordinating design changes as required.

○ Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of civil structure construction and ensure compliance with design and quality standards.

○ Review and assess contractor requests for variations or modifications to the structural design, providing recommendations and approvals as appropriate.

○ Collaborate with the project team to resolve technical issues, including coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders.

○ Conduct quality control inspections of civil structure elements to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements. • Review and approve material submittals and ensure proper documentation of materials used in the construction of civil structures.

○ Prepare and maintain accurate records of design changes, inspections, and structural documentation.

Qualifications And Experience:

○ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

○ Proven experience (at least 15 years) in civil structure engineering, preferably on large-scale construction projects.

○ Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, structural design, and construction practices.

○ Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro) and AutoCAD.

○ Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards.

○ Ability to prepare and review structural design drawings, specifications, and calculations.

○ Experience in reviewing contractor submissions, such as shop drawings and method statements.

○ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address structural issues and coordinate design changes.

○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

○ Ability to conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
Familiarity with construction supervision processes and quality control procedures.
Fluent in English.
