Civil Engineer (Hydrological)

Job Description:

The ideal who demonstrates the experience in Design of (Potable water, Sewerage, Storm water drainage, Firefighting and Irrigation), the formulation of options and holistic analysis as well as an awareness (and ideally experience) of applying the principles of sustainability to infrastructure engineering and Hydrological Studies -Consulting Project Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project managers to establish project timelines and designs
    •Plan, coordinate, manage and monitor the review of civil design deliverables produced by the client’s design consultant, including reports, providing feedback to the Design Project Manager regarding progress, key issues and risk.
  • Ensure the build ability of the proposed civil design and suitability of materials.
  • Review changes or deviations in civil design scope, material quantities, budget or schedule, and assist particularly with defining the change, obtaining accurate estimates of the hours involved, and recommending budget adjustment.
  • This includes hydrological assessment, storm water drainage design, retention, attenuation, protection and hydraulic modelling.
    •Preparing designs, drawings, technical reports, specification, and schedules.
  • You will undertake designs, modelling, calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, investigations, and bills of quantities for Wet Services associated infrastructure and coordinate the delivery of design outputs including the necessary quality assurance checking.
  • You will be involved in design and modelling of water, wastewater, irrigation and storm water network systems and associated pumping stations.
  • The networks include but not limited to
    transmission, distribution, and main trunk lines. • You will also lead and advise on hydrology/flood studies, liaison with roads, grading and involve in implementation of flood protection/mitigations.

  • As a successful candidate, you should have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably in Civil Engineering)-Masters is a plus.
  • You must have a minimum of 10 years’ civil engineering experience in Wet Services, designing water, wastewater, irrigation, and stormwater systems.
  • You must have hands on experience on hydraulic modelling tools & GIS and have good experience in Civil 3D/BIM for infrastructure projects.
  • You should be able to draw and integrate utilities/ infrastructure networks and undertake clash analysis for utilities independently.
  • You should be able to work independently with relevant software including Arc GIS, AutoCAD, Water CAD/Gems, Sewer CAD/Gems, Storm CAD. • You should also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on a project.
  • Middle east Infrastructure experience (Drainage, Sewage, Wet utilise, and hydrology).
