Working Principle of Engine Block Heater

The engine block heater works as follows:

  • Turning on the block heater heats the vehicle’s coolant.
  • When the coolant is heated, the water pump pumps the coolant into the engine. Coolant flows through the engine.
  • The hot coolant transfers that heat to the engine and raises the temperature of the engine normally. Once the engine has warmed up, it’s easy to start.
